Tatmeen is a Saudi digital clinic platform licensed by the Ministry of Health. It focuses on mental, family, and social care, with family medicine available as a supporting service. You can book text, audio, or video sessions with doctors and specialists licensed by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, along with services such as psychological assessments, reports, prescriptions, and lab or imaging requests when ordered by your provider.
Adults can use the platform for their own care, and guardians can arrange care for minors. Tatmeen Business also offers solutions for companies, organizations, and government entities that want to support employee mental health. Learn more about Tatmeen.
Tatmeen is designed for Saudi citizens and residents of the Kingdom. You need a mobile number, an iOS or Android device, and an internet connection. Adults can use the service for themselves, while guardians can create accounts and arrange sessions for a child or teenager in their care, with supervision and consent appropriate to the minor’s age and circumstances.
The interface is available in Arabic and English. The language of a session depends on the languages listed in the provider’s profile. Using the service while outside Saudi Arabia may be affected by local regulations and by whether prescriptions or reports are valid in that country.
Open the app and create your account, then select “Care Providers” or search by provider name or type of condition. Review the provider’s profile, specialty, experience, and languages, then choose an available session length—30, 45, or 60 minutes—along with the appointment time and communication method.
Pay using one of the options shown, such as Mada, Apple Pay, Tabby, Tamara, or an available loyalty program, and you will receive a confirmation. If you are unsure whom to choose, Quick Match asks four questions to help you find a suitable provider. New users may see the “Salamtak” offer for 30% off their first session; make sure it appears in the payment summary before confirming.
Open “Appointments,” then “Upcoming,” to confirm the provider’s name, the time, the duration, and the appointment number, which begins with A. The appointment chat opens 24 hours before the session. You can use it to send a summary of what you are experiencing, relevant medical or psychological reports, lab or imaging results, and voice messages, and to complete any assessment or homework your provider sends.
Before the appointment, choose a quiet, private place, charge your device, and test your internet connection, microphone, and camera. When the appointment begins, a “Join Now” button will appear on the appointment card. See Before Your Appointment for more preparation guidance.
Each adult has a separate account and health record. Help the person register with their own mobile number and book through their own account; you may pay for them during checkout if you wish. For a minor, the guardian can create the account, arrange sessions, and supervise care in a way that suits the child’s age and needs.
You can also choose “Send a Gift, Change a Life!” in the app, select the gift amount, and add a message for the recipient. The value is credited to their wallet so they can choose their own provider and appointment. A gift provides credit; it does not automatically create an appointment or health record.
Sessions are available by text, audio, or video, depending on what the provider offers. Text works well for people who are more comfortable expressing themselves in writing, audio provides a live conversation without a camera, and video adds visual communication when that is helpful.
For a scheduled appointment, you choose the provider and a time from their calendar. An urgent consultation connects you with the next available provider within minutes, and you can begin by text if speaking feels difficult. It is intended for urgent but non-emergency needs. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department.
Some sessions start at SAR 75 for 30 minutes. The price varies by the provider’s specialty and experience and by session length. The final price appears clearly in the provider’s profile and on the booking screen. For the same duration, the session price is the same whether you choose text, audio, or video.
Packages of two, four, or eight sessions may be available, along with offers such as the “Salamtak” new-user discount and a tax exemption for Saudi citizens after identity verification. Review the price, tax, discount, and package terms in the order summary before paying. Learn more about payments and consultation fees.
A psychiatrist or another authorized provider can diagnose your condition after assessing your symptoms and health history, and can document the diagnosis in your health record when enough information is available. The assessment may require more than one session, an in-person examination, or a referral, particularly when physical symptoms overlap or the clinical picture is unclear.
Psychological scales help the provider understand symptom severity and track change, but they are not enough on their own to establish a diagnosis. Your first session does not have to end with a diagnosis or final treatment plan; the most important outcome is a clearer understanding of the next step.
Start with the issue you want to discuss, then use search or Quick Match and review each provider’s specialty, experience, age groups, language, ratings, next available appointment, and session price. A psychiatrist is appropriate when you need a medical assessment or medication, while psychologists and social workers focus on therapy and psychological, social, or family support.
After the first session, ask yourself: Did I feel safe and respected? Did the provider understand my goal and explain the next step? If you do not feel comfortable, you can choose someone else without embarrassment. Your records will remain available to you, but check the terms of any package tied to a specific provider before switching.
Yes. A psychiatrist or family physician can prescribe medication when clinically appropriate, after a sufficient medical assessment, and within their professional authority and applicable regulations. Psychologists and social workers do not prescribe medication.
Providers can also issue reports appropriate to the case, including medical, psychological, or social reports, and may request lab tests or imaging when needed. Several report templates are available, and issued documents can be downloaded as PDF files from the completed appointment. If you need a report for work, study, or insurance, first confirm the required report type and the recipient’s requirements. See Prescriptions and Reports.
Yes. You can choose an alias as your display name in Tatmeen and change it in your profile settings. The provider sees this name instead of your mobile number, while Tatmeen retains the account and basic information needed to operate the service and meet regulatory obligations.
Your appointment content is accessible only to you and the provider you booked. Administrative and support teams do not view or listen to what is discussed in the session. Your provider is bound by professional confidentiality, subject to legal exceptions related to safety or disclosures required by law. Read Privacy and Data Protection.
No. Audio and video calls are not recorded, and Tatmeen does not offer a call-recording feature. Appointment content is accessible only to the patient and the provider.
This is different from retaining items that are created as part of the service. The text chat, voice messages you send, and attachments may remain available, while the provider may save clinical notes, reports, and prescriptions in the professional record when needed. You can return to these materials from the completed appointment according to their type and your access permissions.
Yes, through the appointment tools in Tatmeen. After a session with a psychiatrist or family physician, you receive a free 15-minute follow-up that can be used within 14 days for short questions about the prescription, dosage, or treatment plan. Sessions with a psychologist or social worker require a short follow-up booking, such as a 30-minute session, when a new therapeutic discussion is needed.
You can return to the completed appointment’s chats and guidance. Keep communication inside the platform rather than moving to a personal number or WhatsApp. Follow-up is not an emergency channel and does not guarantee an immediate response.
Yes. If you cancel at least six hours before the appointment, the full amount is returned immediately to your Tatmeen wallet for use on another booking. Cancellations during the final six hours and missed appointments are not refundable.
You receive a full refund if the provider cancels, is at least ten minutes late and the cancellation option appears, or the issue is confirmed to be on the platform’s side. Free rescheduling may be offered instead of a refund. Packages, received gifts, and completed sessions are not refundable in cash. See Cancellation and Rescheduling and the Refund Policy.
If you are afraid that you may harm yourself or someone else, or the danger is immediate, do not wait for a Tatmeen appointment. Call an ambulance on 997 or the unified emergency number 911 where available, or go to the nearest emergency department. You can also call the Ministry of Health on 937 for health guidance. Stay with someone you trust and move away from anything that could be used to cause harm.
For an urgent but non-emergency need, you can request an urgent session with the next available provider, begin with a text conversation, or discuss a C-SSRS suicide-risk assessment with the provider. Tatmeen is not a substitute for emergency services. Visit the Urgent Help Center.
Technical support is available around the clock through live chat. In the app, open “Help Center” from the home screen. On the website, use the chat icon in the corner of the page.
The team can help with login, notifications, joining a session, account management, invoices and payments, cancellation, rescheduling, compensation, and complaints about professional conduct. Have your appointment number and a short description of the issue ready, and never send your password or verification code. Discuss diagnosis, treatment, and dosage questions with your provider, and do not rely on technical support during an emergency.
